If there’s one thing I’ve found over the years, it’s that I’m pretty good at focusing on my mission. Whatever said mission may be at one point in my life.
At one time it was getting good with girls.
Another time it was doing whatever it took to get abroad.
And most recently, it’s been building my business to the point where I’m going to be comfortable for the rest of my life. I don’t want to worry about money, ever.
But it takes a lot of worrying to get there.
Get what I mean?
Nonstop focus and attention to business. This also results in some impatience, anger, and not being able to slow down and enjoy the ride.
That’s one thing I’m VERY envious of women about. They are much more able to slow down and enjoy love. Sure, they have crazy emotions that sometimes get the best of them, but they very much live in *the moment*.
Sure, this also has negative consequences – namely, regret.
And check this out:
I’m writing this from a brand new McDonald’s McCafe (yeah, yeah, I know I live in Eastern Europe and go to McDonald’s…).
Do you know how long I had to wait in line to get my coffee?
About ten minutes.
And every one of those seconds drove me absolutely mad. Especially when it was my turn to order and the two baristas behind the counter seemed far more interested in doing the dishes than taking my order.
The entire time, my heart was pounding in my chest. Impatience. Let’s go. Gotta get back to work. No time for slackers.
I can’t turn it off, no matter how hard I try. It’s part of what has allowed my business to grow this much. It’s also what has prevented me from enjoying parts of life.
Maybe someday I will make peace of it. At least I hope so.
The truth is:
You need a bit of balance in your life. Maybe I need to do a bit more practicing what I preach.
Build your business.
Build lasting friendships.
Go where you want when you want.
And date the girls you want.
The surefire way to make sure you’ve got the girl aspect figured out?
