While many people have this dream of traveling around indefinitely, there comes a point where you have to put a lid on it..
Here are 11 simple reasons why being a digital nomad isn’t the greatest thing since sliced brea:
1.) Having a home is actually pretty nice
Living place to place is great for a while, but eventually becomes old. Everybody needs a home base to return to.
2.) Travel is a huge time sink
Rarely does anyone factor in the day or so recovery period, jet lag, etc.
3.) You can actually make friends.
A few local boys can be priceless both from a cultural integration perspective, and a SHTF perspective.
4.) You can actually find a gym you like and become a regular.
Instead of just joining the one closest to your AirBNB.
5.) You can become a regular…at a lot of places.
Having the waiter or bar staff know who you are is priceless. IFYKY.
6.) You can get more involved into activities that take longer-term commitment. Play on a football or baseball team.
It’s good to keep involved with the things you loved to do in your home country.
7.) You can learn the local language which always opens doors.
Dating, business, friendships, the list is endless.
8.) Having a bigger monitor is nice.
(Though too many screens is counter-productive).
9.) Having a decent chair is priceless (AirBNB kitchen chairs do not cut it).
10.) You don’t have to stay at AirBNBs
Which have gone downhill in recent years. Then when you can travel, you can stay in hotels and be rid of all the annoying fees, cleaning, apartment owners, etc.
11.) You can actually enjoy traveling.
Instead of having to settle in, find places to go, catch up on work, and all the other things digital nomads moving every month have to do.
